Do you want to be famous on YouTube?

It’s not possible unless you have a ton of subscribers.

Without the subscribers, you’re not going to become popular on YouTube. But you’re starting from scratch. How do you get popular without spending money on ads?

Hey, everyone, I’m Neil Patel, and today I’m going to share with you how to generate over 25,000 subscribers on YouTube in less than a year.

#1 Your content has to be super emotional.

Just look at this video. I’m emotional when I speak and talk, not because I’m trying to do it on purpose, but it’s because I’m super passionate about entrepreneurship and marketing.

#2: You have to tell people to subscribe to your channel
When they’re out there, they’re listening to your YouTube video. You have to ask them to subscribe.

At the end of my videos, I started adding that. I didn’t have that in my earlier videos, but when I started adding that I noticed a significant increase in how many subscribers I was getting.

It was roughly three times more.

That’s crazy.

All by telling people at the end of the video to subscribe the exit screen and the design which you can see right here, it makes it easier to get subscribers.

#3: The next thing you want to do is use the right keywords.

You can use tools like Google Trends to see what’s popular. Google Keyword Traffic Estimator, or Google Keyword Planner technically, right?

But either way, it’ll tell you what keywords are popular, the searches they’re getting.

I also use Ubersuggest. It gives me more keyword ideas for my ideas. And this all tells me what keywords to put in my title, my descriptions, so that way my videos get more views.

#4: The next thing you want to do is go hit up other bloggers who are writing similar content about the videos you’re producing and hit them up and ask them to embed your videos.

It’s straightforward.

You go to BuzzSumo.com; you type in keywords related to your videos. It’ll show you the popular articles, and you want to shoot an email to the person who wrote that article.

“Hey John, I love your content, but you know what? Some people are visual learners. I created a video that’s inspired by your latest blog post. I was wondering would you mind embedding it?”

So by getting more people to embed your videos, you’re going to get external traffic.

#5: The last tip I have for you is to make sure your videos are super long and engaging.

If you’re not showing emotion and engaging throughout your video or if your videos aren’t long, they’re not going to do well. Just go check out my earlier YouTube videos. Some are two minutes, three minutes, four minutes.

Some are even one minute. You know what happens when a video is really short?

YouTube doesn’t give it much clout, your channel won’t do as well, and all of your videos won’t rank as high or getting as many suggestions, right?

You know once you’re done watching a video, you see more suggested videos?

Well, the key to doing well on YouTube is to have a super long video. I’m not saying 30, 40 minutes.

Anything five or six minutes plus is excellent. Anything less than that is really hard to rank high unless you’re going to terms that aren’t competitive, which means it’s not going to generate much traffic and you wouldn’t get subscribers.

So make sure your videos are over five minutes long. If you follow these tips, you’ll do well.

Or if you don’t have time and you’re a business, you can check out companies like which do YouTube consulting, and they’ll teach you and do all the work for you and add in the keywords and the transcripts, so that way your YouTube videos get way more traffic and traction.

Everyone’s telling you to invest thousands of dollars or thousands of your hours into SEO.

And if you do, when should you expect results? The last thing you want to do is spend thousands of dollars or thousands of your hours and it not do anything for you.

That would just suck.

Hey, everyone, I’m Neil Patel, and today I’m going to share with you how long it takes to see results from SEO. Here are the SEO basics.

Here’s the thing. With neilpatel.com, when I first started search engine marketing, I quickly got up to 9,000 visitors a month from search.

Within a matter of 12 months, you fast forward; I went to all the way to roughly 89,000 visitors a month from Google, right?

So in one year I almost 10xed my results. You fast forward another 12 months; I hit over 450,000 visitors a month from Google.

So in two years, I went from 9,000 to 400K and roughly 50,000 thousand visitors a month.

That’s a considerable increase, right?

Just think about that.

Nine to 450K.

That’s crazy.

Now, you’re not going to get the same results as me, because when I started neilpatel.com, this wasn’t my first rodeo.

I’d been in SEO for a long time, well over ten years. But I’ll keep this simple, this is post about SEO for beginners, not pros.

When you first begin SEO, in the first three months, you should see more impressions.

Log into Google Search Console and look at Search Analytics.

You will see how many impressions you’re getting.

As the first three months go by, your impressions should be going up.

If they’re not going up, you’re probably doing something off, or you’re in a competitive space.

Within six months for sure, the impression count should go up. And within your Google Analytics, you should see traffic from Google other than terms from your brand name.

You already may be getting a lot of traffic for your brand name, but you should be getting traffic for keywords outside of your brand name, even if it’s not a lot.

So in the first six months, you should be getting traffic from key terms that aren’t your brand name.

Within a year, things should start kicking in.

Within two years, that’s when you’re going to see the bulk of your SEO growth.

By then you’ve built up your authority and trust in Google, and you just start ranking for almost anything.

Now, here’s a caveat. If you’re not building links and you’re not writing a lot of content, and you’re not getting social signals to your site, it can take even longer to get rankings.

So, to get results within the timeframes I’m giving you, you need to be publishing at least one blog post a week, building at least five to 10 links a month, and you need to be promoting your content every single week on Facebook, Twitter, and any of your other social profiles.

If you do that, you’ll get results within the first 12 months, but you’ll see the bulk of your results come within the first two years.
